I'm trying to find a good, reliable free autoresponder service - not for myself, since I already subscribe to AWeber and own about 4 other self-hosted systems - but one that I can recommend to newbies just so they can see how it works.
I realize AW has a free 30 day trial period, but in many cases 30 days is not long enough to actually give it a decent try.
I believe that GetResponse used to have a free version but that seems to have disappeared. I also find their interface incredibly confusing, so after being subscribed to their service for about 3 years and not really liking it much I finally cancelled a month or so ago.
In case you're wondering why I have used so many different services and own so many self-hosted programs, it's because I've not been completely happy with any of them.
