When looking at display graphics the most important difference is between outdoor and indoor applications. Different applications have different requirements.

Outdoor graphics are exposed to the elements and they therefore require special inks in order to be UV resistant and waterproof. That means you must use special solvent inks that will not fade nearly as quickly in bright sunlight, and are also water resistant.
